It’s a new year, which means many of us are itching to try something new with our hair. With so many trends cycling through, it can be hard to decide what might work for you. Here are some of our favorite new hair trends that are popping up in 2024!

Eau So Chic French Bob 

Bobs aren’t going anywhere this year; in fact, they’re getting a chic update: the French Bob. This particular style is cut tight to the jawline and uses tight, blunt bangs to frame the face. While it’s trending right now, this is a super classic look that will never go out of style.

Kitty Cut—aka, Long Textured Bob

The Kitty Cut is like the Wolf Cut’s little sister. While the wolf cut is a blunt shaggy look, the kitty cut offers a softer layered frame. In this haircut, the layers are longer and more blended. Whether you leave your hair natural or style it in a polished blowout, this cut is flattering to any face shape.

Butterfly Bangs 

Curtain bangs have been all the rage in the last few years, and the newly termed “butterfly bang” is a variation of them. Named after the butterfly haircut, whose natural layers frame the face in a wing-like structure. These bangs do the same thing, just on a smaller scale. This is a great longer option if you’re looking to add some face-framing layers and don’t want to deal with styling bangs every day.

Reds in Every Shade—from Cowboy Copper to Cherry Cola 

Our collective red era began in 2023, and it isn’t going anywhere in 2024. Red is having a huge moment in a variety of shades, so you can pick which best suits you. From strawberry blonde to Cowboy Copper to Cherry Cola, a dark maroon, there’s a shade of red to suit any skin tone and color season.  

The Bixie 

The “bixie,” also known as the Bob-Pixie, is the natural answer to short hair trends. For those who have tried the bob and still want to go a little shorter but don’t want to commit to a pixie, a grown-out in-between look is the way to go. The bixie satisfies the short hair feeling but allows some room for the hair’s natural texture and wave to show through. 

Single Color Processing 

This year, more and more people will be opting for single-process color rather than double processing, which involves stricter maintenance and upkeep. So, think rich, solid colors rather than multi-dimensional highlights. Your colorist may even opt for just a gloss to keep your color rich and shiny. 

Let Your Natural Texture Shine 

With the rise of “clean girl” aesthetic which features more natural makeup and skincare, more and more people are embracing their hair’s natural texture as well. This year, instead of fighting with our natural hair, we’re learning to work with it. Plenty of products at your disposal like leave in conditioners, air dry cremes, and wave revivers will help reduce frizz and boost shine.  

Old Money Blonde 

Thanks to the continuation of the 2023 fashion trend and TikTok filters, “Old money aesthetic” is trending in a new way: in hair! Softer, wheat-tinged blondes, or bronde (brunette-blonde), is the direction many blondes, like Sophia Richie Grainge and Hailey Bieber, are going at the moment. This gives way for a more classic, natural blonde look of the 80s and 90s than the bright, bleached moment we’ve been in since the 2010s.

Lighten Up with a Scandinavian Hairline 

For those of us electing to keep our blonde light and fresh, the Scandinavian hairline is the best new secret. Your colorist will take ultra-thin layers around your hairline and lighten them to create a natural-looking, blended highlight.
