At-Home Best Practices
- Wash in cooler water—hot water is harsh on the hair and can dull your color quickly.
- Reduce wash days—hair is in its weakest state when it is wet, and heavy shampooing can lead to faster color loss.
- Use heat protectant and limit heat styling when possible—heat is the quickest way to damage your hair, especially if it’s color-treated. Opt for air-drying when possible, limit heat styling to 1-2 times a week if necessary.
- Sleep with a silk pillowcase—sleeping with a silk pillowcase can help protect your hair from breakage, knotting, frizz, and other damage.
- Get a shower head filter to eliminate hard water—the water in our showers can contain minerals and chemicals that could harm your hair. Luckily there are filters available to soften hard water and reduce the damage to your hair.
- Utilize masks and serums targeted for color vibrancy and damage prevention.

- Kérastase Chroma Thermique Heat Protecting Serum: I love it because it’s lightweight but you’re still getting UV and heat protection to keep your color vibrant while giving you a frizz-free blow dry.
- Kérastase Blond Absolu Bain Lumiere Shampoo: It’s my favorite for blondes because it makes the hair feel super refreshed and hydrated, but it’s super lightweight which makes it perfect for all hair types.
